It is the role of the PCN to become the key vehicle in delivering the seven national service specifications that have been set out in the NHS long term plan, and furthermore it’s the role of the local practices to assist and where ever possible educate their patients to the changes taking place.
PCN’S are going to greatly improve access to an additional range of services available to their patients and help to integrate primary care with wider health and community services. The patient needs to be aware of this and it will be products like “Story Line” that could help to achieve these goals. It has already been mentioned the importance in providing patients with “ online access to health advice and information via websites and apps to help manage their own health” “Story Line” ticks every box in this requirement.
The core characteristics of a PCN will be to show practices providing care in different ways to match different people’s needs, to focus on prevention and personalised care, supporting patients to make informed decisions about their own care and look after their own health. Patient education is paramount. That’s why Story Line is a bespoke product that can be adapted to the specific requirements of each PCN.

Story Line Content.

Who will provide all the content for your Story Line?

 

Your in complete control! it’s your Story Line.

Information Information Information!

It would be the responsibility of the PCN to provide the content required to construct the “Story Line”. The PCN would also be in control of providing content updates wherever and whenever necessary. The PCN would also inform the practises of their contribution to the product. The practices would have their own log in facility to offer a valuable and informative foreword and patient care services listing to the final product. This could include video content.
We are hoping that the majority of the “Story Line” content will be standardised this would be beneficial to all parties. We do acknowledge this may not be suitable for all PCN’S and some may wish to have their “Story Line” produced 100% bespoke. This is something that would be discussed in-depth with the PCN as there would be an increase in the cost of production.
We are aware that time is money and that the PCN and it’s practices may not have the time set aside in their busy schedules to collate what is required for production. So wherever necessary we will assure you of our commitment to assist where ever possible. It is always helpful to have one point of contact to discuss initial content and furthermore updates when required etc. This individual will be designated by the PCN. ( Practice Management, Secretaries, Administration etc.)
 
As you will see from the accompanying sample Story Line, the tabs of the “Story Line” will always stay the same. It’s the content that may change.

We encourage our valued customers to engage with the development of the products chosen in this case “Story Line”, this guarantees a proper understanding into the diversity and abilities of the finished platform. The next stage is to provide you with the technology specification, so that we can then start working on product design and content requirements. Once the content has been agreed and collated, a time schedule to suit all parties can be discussed.

 

 

So, lets get started; 

 

 

Step 1.

A decision has been made to have a “Story Line” produced for the PCN!
We are hoping at this stage that all the practices have been informed of their decision to proceed and that the practices are 100% in favour of the product. If this is not the case! It is now time for the PCN to contact all the practices in their remit and inform them of their decision. It will be paramount that All practices are aware what the product is! What will be their involvement! what will they be required to provide as far as data! Why the product has been implemented! How the product will it benefit the practice and their patients!  and if it will be compulsory for them to be included!
The PCN will be provided with a digital circular that can be sent to their practices providing the answers to the above queries.

Step 2.

We will at your earliest convenience start discussing the content of your “Story Line ” 
The product has been designed to be a one stop shop of information on the services and facilities available at GP practices that fall in the remit of the PCN, providing the reader with informative data on the changes they will experience in the future. Patient education is of a paramount importance and the information needed to undertake this educational requirement will differ from area to area. That’s why we are offering  the opportunity for the PCN to provide a  proportion of the “Story Line” content on a bespoke scenario. To help ease the burden in providing this data we will be providing the PCN’S with templates outlining what will be required and how to provide it.

Step 3.

Supplying and approving your content.
The content you will be supplying will be in the formats of editorial, images and video (optional). The images used will have to be of a certain quality and we will high light in our templates the specific requirements. There will be an opportunity in certain sections where either the PCN or practice or both, may wish to provide editorial, we will outline the maximum quantity of words required for each section, the wording must be finalised content. Specification will be outlined in the templates provided. As far as video content for your “Story Line” is concerned, we feel this would be a valuable addition to it’s content. Video can be filmed on an Iphone or android device, the quality is usually exceptional. However there are other options in providing video content. a) Face time. Using a face time facility provided by us, you will be able to supply high resolution video’s to be uploaded into chosen sections of your Story Line content. b) On-site Videographer.  If a professional  Videographer is required to take all appropriate video’s this can be arranged at a convenient time and location. (ONE MONTHS NOTICE MUST BE PROVIDED)
The editing would be undertaken by our product development team. Once again video technical requirements will be explained in detail on the templates that are sent to you by our production team.
Once your content has been added to the product, your “Story Line” will be forwarded to a designated contact at the PCN for approval. It is then paramount that approval is sourced on all bespoke content as soon as possible. 

Step4.

Delivery of the final product and updates.
Our passion for technology is only matched by our passion to provide our customers with digital perfection, and for us to reach that perfection we need to be working with you not just for you and to achieve this, communication is of paramount importance. Our dedicated production team will take you through each stage of development until the final “Story Line” is ready to be proofed. All of the GP practices within the network will be instructed how they can, if they wish, use their own personal login facility to update, whenever necessary, their own personal data.
Once your “Story Line” is signed off and everything has been approved, the product will be circulated to a list of recipients that has been provided by the PCN. Accompanying the “Story Line” will be  instructions on distribution, content updates etc.
